A major highlight in our recent European Splendour trip

Early this month, I again accompanied a group to Europe.  Most are first timers in Western Europe so I chose popular cities to bring them.  We  started in Paris and ended in Vienna.

One of the major highlights of this trip where all the passengers cried with joy was our trip in Switzerland, specifically in Mt. Rigi, known as the queen of the mountains.  Most filipino groups go up Mt. Titlis known for its eternal snow however it was early March and still winter so I was sure Mt. Rigi was still filled with snow and Titlis did not have the views of the city and lake.

We first drove to to Vitznau and the scenery was simply charming.

Once we arrived in Vitznau station, we got our tickets  then looked for  the cogwheel train which will take us up to “Rigi-Kulm.”

The scenery from this so called Queen of the Mountains was simply breathtaking since you see a charming view  of the city including that of Lake Lucerne.

Upon reaching the top, everyone ran to savour the snow and kept clicking away to capture those precious moments.

We entered a grotto which leads to a restaurant and some of us took coffee to warm us.

It was a further fun filled experience as we exited the other side of the building for another view and experience of the snow. We even met some Swiss tourists who told us we were lucky to get a sunny snow day so it was not as chilly and the views were truly picturesque.

Some did not want to leave the place yet preferring to marvel at the views, atmosphere and clean air but we had to go down after a few hours.

On the way down, we took a ride back to Rigi-Kaltbad and from there tried the cable car to Weggis station where our motor coach was parked.
